Powerful Gas Grilling with the Landmann Triton MaxX PTS 3.1
The Landmann Triton MaxX PTS 3.1 is a full-featured gas barbecue for serious grillers. With three adjustable main burners and an exclusive infrared side burner (the maxX-zone), you have 14.2 kW of total power and a grilling surface ready for any technique — direct, indirect, or searing at extreme heat. The patented PTS system (Power Thermal Spreading) eliminates cold spots and ensures even heat distribution across the entire grilling surface.
Key Benefits
-
Infrared maxX-zone up to 800°C — the side burner reaches extreme temperatures that immediately seal the pores of meat, retaining juices and creating a perfect crust.
-
PTS system for even heat — the specific burner arrangement and burner covers distribute heat without hot or cold spots, resulting in consistent grilling results across the entire grate.
-
14.2 kW total power — three main burners of 3.5 kW each plus a 3.7 kW side burner give you the heating capacity for large quantities or simultaneous cooking in multiple zones.
-
Lid thermometer and illuminated control knobs — the built-in thermometer provides real-time temperature monitoring; LED-illuminated knobs allow for precise adjustment even at dusk.
-
Robust stainless steel construction — the frame, knobs, and exterior panels are made of stainless steel for durability in all weather conditions.
-
Base cabinet with two doors and 4 lockable wheels — convenient storage space for the gas bottle or accessories; the lockable wheels ensure stable placement on any patio surface.
Applications
The Triton MaxX PTS 3.1 is suitable for direct grilling of steaks, hamburgers, and fish, indirect preparation of spare ribs, pulled pork, and whole poultry, and as a cooking station for side dishes and sauces on the side burner. The warming rack provides additional space to keep prepared dishes warm while you continue grilling.
Material and Maintenance
Grates are made of enamelled cast iron for optimal heat retention and a non-stick effect. The exterior is made of brushed stainless steel. Cleaning after use: remove coarse residue with a grill brush, burn off residue at the highest setting for 30 minutes, and rub the cast iron grates with vegetable oil after cleaning. The grease collection system (grease collection tray and cup) should be cleaned after each use. Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents on enamelled parts and stainless steel surfaces.
Practical Tips
- Always preheat the barbecue with the lid closed to prevent sticking and achieve an optimal crust.
- After each connection of the gas bottle, perform a leak test according to the pressure regulator's instructions.
- Use the lower position of the side burner grate for grilling close to the heat source; the upper position for cooking at a distance.
- Before first use, burn in the barbecue for at least 20 minutes at the highest setting with the lid closed to remove production residue.
- Always store the gas bottle upright; immediately close the gas supply after use and store the grill in a dry, well-ventilated outdoor location.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maxX-zone and what do I use it for?
The maxX-zone is the infrared side burner on the right side of the barbecue. Due to its extremely high temperature (up to 800°C), it immediately seals the pores of meat, resulting in a crispy crust and a juicy interior. Ideal for steaks. The side burner can also be used as a cooking hob for side dishes and sauces.
What is the PTS system?
PTS stands for Power Thermal Spreading. Through the specific arrangement of the burners and burner covers, heat is evenly distributed across the entire grilling surface, without hot or cold spots. This leads to consistent cooking times and better grilling results.
What type of gas do I use for the Triton MaxX PTS 3.1?
The barbecue is suitable for propane (G31), butane (G30), or a mixture of both gases in a standard commercial gas bottle. Use only the supplied or EN 16129 certified pressure regulator.
Is the barbecue suitable for indirect grilling?
Yes. Turn off the middle burner and let the left and right burners operate with the lid closed. The heat circulates around the food without direct flame damage — ideal for spare ribs, pulled pork, and whole poultry.
