Litokol Litosil Neutro is a neutral-curing silicone sealant in a 300 ml cartridge. It is designed for materials where ordinary acetic-curing sealants cause problems: marble and natural stone. The sealant leaves no stains along the joint edges and does not corrode unprotected metal.
Color & Ambiance
Crystal is neutral transparent. Useful with glass or when the material itself should dictate the color — with natural stone, this is often the most tranquil choice.
Product & Application
Litosil Neutro cures neutrally, without methyl ethyl ketoxime. This makes it compatible with natural stone according to ISO 16938-1: the edges of the joint do not discolor. The sealant is odorless, waterproof, and remains flexible.
- Marble and all types of natural stone, including sandstone, quartzite, granite, gneiss, and porphyry
- Ceramic tiles and porcelain stoneware
- Expansion joints on floors, walls, and facades
- Swimming pools with marble or natural stone, including joints submerged in water
- Painted and enameled glass
- Mirror edges against natural stone
- Alkaline substrates such as concrete and cement mortar
This sealant is also suitable for bonding natural stone to metal — for example, stair treads on a steel structure — because it accommodates movement.
Substrate & Compatibility
The surfaces must be completely clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, oil, and old paint. Porous substrates should be cleaned mechanically, for example with a wire brush, to remove loose particles. If repairing an existing joint, completely remove the old sealant before reapplying.
- Adheres to most building materials without primer
- For adhesion problems on certain substrates, a specific primer is required
- Not to be used in combination with butyl, EPDM, neoprene, or bituminous and insulating felt
- Not paintable
- Not suitable for full-surface bonding
Check in advance that the building materials with which the sealant will come into contact are compatible. If further work is to be carried out later in the area of the joint, ensure that any released substances will not affect the sealant.
Processing
Screw the plastic nozzle onto the cartridge and cut it diagonally to the desired width. Place the cartridge in a manual or pneumatic gun and inject the sealant into the joint in one continuous motion, without trapping air. Finish the joint within the open time — after that, the outer skin will begin to form.
- Process between +5 °C and +40 °C, most favorably between +15 °C and +25 °C
- Skin formation after approximately 25 minutes
- Cures approximately 2 to 3 mm per 24 hours
- Fully loadable after 5 days
- Ensure good ventilation during application and curing
The curing time increases with the thickness of the joint. If the layer needs to be thicker than 15 mm, please contact the manufacturer's technical service first. In warm weather, store the cartridge cool, dry, and out of direct sunlight, and use an opened cartridge within a reasonable time. Avoid contact with solvents while the sealant is curing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many meters of joint can I get from one cartridge? That depends on the size of the joint. For a joint 6 mm wide and 5 mm deep, 300 ml will cover approximately 10 meters; for 10 mm wide and 10 mm deep, it's about 2 meters.
Why use a neutral sealant on natural stone? An acetic-curing sealant can cause discoloration at the joint edges of marble and natural stone. Litosil Neutro cures neutrally and is compatible with natural stone according to ISO 16938-1.
Can this sealant be used underwater? Yes. The technical data sheet specifically mentions swimming pools with marble or natural stone, including joints that are submerged underwater.
When is the joint loadable? The sealant cures approximately 2 to 3 mm per 24 hours and is fully loadable after five days. For a deep joint, this will take longer.
