Litokol Litosil is a one-component silicone sealant in Black 2, in a 300 ml cartridge. You can use it to seal permanently elastic joints on floors, walls, and facades, both indoors and outdoors. The sealant is ready to use and adheres to most building materials without a primer.
Color & Ambiance
Black 2 goes deeper: dense, matte black. On a white wall, it becomes a deliberate, graphic line instead of a mere finish.
Product & Application
Litosil cures under the influence of atmospheric humidity and then remains elastic, so the joint absorbs movement instead of tearing. The cured sealant is waterproof and highly resistant to weather, aging, and UV radiation.
- Expansion joints on floors, walls, and facades
- Connection joints in healthcare environments
- Swimming pools in ceramic and porcelain stoneware
- Bonding and insulating glass elements
- Sealing profile glass
- Wet rooms indoors and outdoor applications
Note the limit: this version cures with acetic acid. For marble and natural stone, choose Litosil Neutro, which is compatible with them according to ISO 16938-1 and does not discolor the joint edges.
Substrate & Compatibility
Surfaces must be completely clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, oil, and old paint. Porous substrates should be cleaned mechanically, for example with a wire brush, to remove loose particles. If you are repairing an existing joint, completely remove the old sealant before reapplying.
- Adheres to most building materials without primer
- For adhesion problems on certain substrates, a specific primer is required
- Not to be used in combination with butyl, EPDM, neoprene, or bituminous and insulating felt
- Not paintable
- Not suitable for full-surface bonding
Always check in advance that the building materials that come into contact with the sealant are compatible with each other. If further work is to be carried out later at the joint, check that the released substances do not affect the sealant.
Processing
Screw the plastic nozzle onto the cartridge and cut it diagonally to the desired width. Place the cartridge in a manual or pneumatic gun and inject the sealant into the joint in one continuous motion, without introducing air. Finish the joint within the open time — after that, the outside will seal.
- Process between +5 °C and +40 °C, ideally between +15 °C and +25 °C
- Skin formation after approximately 15 minutes
- Cures approximately 2 to 3 mm per 24 hours
- Fully loadable after 5 days
- Ensure good ventilation during application and curing
The curing time increases with the thickness of the joint. If the layer needs to be thicker than 15 mm, please contact the manufacturer's technical service first. Store the cartridge in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight in warm weather, and use an opened cartridge within a reasonable time. Avoid contact with solvents while the sealant is curing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many meters of joint can I get from one cartridge? That depends on the size of the joint. For a joint 6 mm wide and 5 mm deep, 300 ml will cover approximately 10 meters; for 10 mm wide and 10 mm deep, it will cover about 2 meters.
Can I use this sealant on marble or natural stone? No. This version cures with acetic acid, which can discolor the joint edges. For those materials, use Litosil Neutro.
Can I work over an old sealant joint? No. The old sealant must be completely removed before reapplying, otherwise the new layer will not adhere reliably. Also, it cannot be painted over, so choose the correct color immediately.
When is the joint loadable? The sealant cures approximately 2 to 3 mm per 24 hours and is fully loadable after five days. For a deep joint, this will take longer.
