Litokol StyleGrout Tech is a flexible cement-based grout, here in the colour soft ivory. It comes as a powder in a 3 kg bag and is mixed with water. You can use it to grout ceramics, porcelain stoneware, mosaics, large slabs, and natural stone, on floors and walls, indoors and outdoors.
Colour & atmosphere
Ivory-2 is half a tone fuller than Ivory-1, with more cream in it. With terracotta and cotto-look tiles, it keeps the surface cohesive.
Product & application
StyleGrout Tech falls into class CG2WA according to EN 13888 and ISO 13007-3. This is an improved cement-based grout with reduced water absorption and high abrasion resistance. The joint remains full and smooth, and the product is formulated to prevent efflorescence.
- Ceramic tiles, porcelain stoneware, and single or double-fired tiles
- Ceramic and glass mosaics
- Large format tiles and thin laminated stoneware slabs
- Marble, granite, natural stone, and reconstituted stone
- Terracotta and clinker
- Wet rooms, showers, swimming pools, fountains, spas, and hammams
- Terraces, balconies, facades, and industrial floors
- Underfloor heating
With polished porcelain stoneware and natural stone, there is often microporosity in the surface, which can discolour the tile or make it difficult to clean. The manufacturer recommends always making a test joint in such cases.
Substrate & compatibility
First, check that the tile adhesive is completely dry and cured. The joints must be clean, dust-free, and open to the full tile thickness, and any adhesive residue that has run into the joint must be removed. Remove plastic tile spacers before grouting; butt joints without space are not allowed.
- For highly absorbent tiles or in hot weather: moisten the joints first with a damp sponge
- Do not apply to damp substrates or in case of rising damp
- Do not add lime, cement, or other materials to the product
- For expansion, corner, and connection joints, use an elastic sealant, not grout
For interior work, count on expansion joints every 20 to 25 m², and for exterior work, every 9 to 15 m². Outdoors, these joints must also be sealed watertight.
Processing
First, pour the water into a clean bucket and slowly add the powder, mixing with a drill and mixing paddle until a lump-free mass is formed. Let the mixture rest for about 3 minutes, then mix again for a few more seconds. Manual mixing is not recommended.
- Approximately 0.8 litres of water per 3 kg bag, which is 26 to 28%
- Process between +5 °C and +35 °C
- Approximately 50 minutes working time at +23 °C
- Apply with a rubber float, diagonally to the joint direction
- After 15 to 30 minutes, once the product becomes matte, wash off with a well-wrung sponge
Adhere to the water mixture: more water causes shrinkage and lower final strength, and different amounts of water between two buckets will result in colour differences in the final result. Do not wash off too early — if the product is still plastic, you will partly empty the joint and the colour will be uneven. Adding water after binding has begun is not allowed.
Remove haze after curing with a clean cloth. If residues remain on the tile, they can be removed six to seven days after grouting with Litoclean or Litoclean EVO. Do not use these cleaners on non-acid-resistant materials such as marble or limestone. Protect the work from direct sunlight and strong drafts for the first 12 hours, and do not cover the fresh joint: wait 24 to 48 hours before covering it with breathable material.

Frequently asked questions
How much water goes into a 3 kg bag? Approximately 0.8 litres, which is 26 to 28%. Adhere to this: more water causes shrinkage and lower final strength, and between two buckets with different water mixtures, you will see colour differences in the joint.
Why do I have to wait 15 to 30 minutes before washing off? As long as the product is still plastic, the sponge will partly empty the joint and the colour will be uneven. Wait until the surface becomes matte, then wash off with a well-wrung sponge.
Can I use this grout on natural stone? Yes, marble, granite, and natural stone are listed in the technical sheet. However, always make a test joint first, as porous types of stone can discolour. The cleaners Litoclean and Litoclean EVO are acidic and may NOT be used on marble or limestone.
When can the floor be used again? The work is loadable after 24 hours. For swimming pools, it takes seven days before the pool can be filled.
